Mondelēz International Appoints Adyl Laraki as General Manager for Northwest Africa
Mondelēz International has announced the appointment of Adyl Laraki as the General Manager for Northwest Africa. Effective October 1, 2026, this appointment positions the Casablanca-based leader at the helm of the company’s operations in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Mauritania.
This new responsibility comes amidst a backdrop of expanding activities for Mondelēz International in Morocco and the surrounding region. The company aims to continue its growth by leveraging its local teams and enhancing synergies among the four markets encompassed by this regional management.
Accelerating Development in the Region
In his new role, Adyl Laraki will be tasked with consolidating existing operations while identifying new growth opportunities. His duties will also include fostering better coordination among the various markets in Northwest Africa and addressing the evolving needs of consumers.
Ihab Amin, president of the MENAP unit at Mondelēz International, emphasizes the new leader’s international experience and understanding of the region. He believes that this background will enable the company to further its innovation efforts and expand access to its brands.
Amin also notes that this new leadership is expected to strengthen Morocco’s position as a key industrial hub for Mondelēz International in Northwest Africa.
Over Twenty Years of Experience at Procter & Gamble
Adyl Laraki brings a wealth of international experience, having spent over twenty years in various leadership roles at Procter & Gamble (P&G).
He notably contributed to the growth of the company’s activities in Morocco before taking on commercial responsibilities spanning Northwest Africa, as well as additional international markets, including Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
His career subsequently took him to the Philippines, where he led several major categories, and later to responsibilities in sales and digital commerce across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
This international experience is highlighted as a key aspect of his new role leading Mondelēz’s operations in Northwest Africa.
Recent Tenure at OCP Nutricrops
Before joining Mondelēz International, Adyl Laraki served as CEO of Europe at OCP Nutricrops. In this position, he played a significant role in structuring the company’s operations within the European region, driving a transition towards higher-value specialized solutions.
His background in various sectors and international markets complements his expertise in consumer goods and business development, as Mondelēz seeks to maintain its growth momentum in Northwest Africa.
Morocco at the Core of the Regional Strategy
Based in Casablanca, Adyl Laraki will now oversee the operations of Mondelēz International across four markets: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Mauritania.
This organizational structure affirms the importance of Morocco within the company’s regional framework. The industrial presence and local teams are expected to serve as a foundation for business development and capacity strengthening in the region.
