Africa’s Laughter Festival: A Pan-African 6th Edition
The Festival Afrique du Rire makes a grand return for its 6th edition under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, solidifying its position among the major events in Francophone humor. Driven by the Moroccan-Ivorian comedian Tahar Lazrak, known as Oualas, the event reinforces its primary mission: to celebrate the spirit of Pan-Africanism and promote laughter as a tool for dialogue, cohesion, and solidarity among peoples.
This edition holds particular significance as it coincides with the festivities of the 50th anniversary of the Green March, highlighting values of unity and national pride. Organizers emphasize that this new edition aims to offer a diverse, unifying, and deeply human program, reflecting a creative and optimistic Africa.
A Rich and Diverse Program
The festival’s strength lies in the quality and diversity of its artistic lineup. Renowned comedians from Morocco, Ivory Coast, Niger, France, and other African countries are set to perform. Headliners include Oualas, Camille Lellouche, Sofiane Soch, Le Magnific, Jason Brokerss, Mimo Lazrak, Marcellin Eucon, DJ Red Supa, Ramatoulaye, Jalil Tijani, and Zouhair Bahaoui.
The tour kicks off in Morocco, with two scheduled performances on November 12 and 13 in Casablanca and Fès (Mégarama), before continuing its journey through Sub-Saharan Africa.
A Continental Tour
After its stop in Morocco, the festival will head to two African capitals:
- Niamey (Niger) on November 22 at the Palais des Congrès
- Abidjan (Ivory Coast) on November 28 at the Palais de la Culture
These performances will feature Oualas, Camille Lellouche, Sofiane Soch, Le Magnific, Redouane Behache, Ramatoulaye, and other renowned comedians.
A Festival that has Become a Movement
More than just an artistic event, Afrik du Rire has established itself as a genuine cultural movement, reflecting the energy of an Africa that laughs, creates, and unites. This 6th edition aims to strengthen ties between audiences and make laughter a universal language.
It promises to be a powerful moment, filled with emotion, camaraderie, and pride, celebrating Morocco and Africa in a shared dynamic of joy.
