SRM Souss-Massa: A Key Player in Innovative Drinking Water Management

The Souss-Massa Regional Multi-Service Company (SRM-SM) is establishing itself as a central player in the sustainable and innovative management of water resources in the region, addressing the growing water pressure exacerbated by climate change and population growth.
A Structuring Program Led by SRM-SM
Under the supervision of the Ministry of the Interior, SRM-SM is leading the National Program for Monoblock Stations, aimed at enhancing access to drinking water in the region and across Morocco. This program plans the construction of 203 monoblock stations with a total investment of 2.25 billion dirhams, providing a capacity of 41 million m³ per year.
SRM-SM’s goal is to utilize non-conventional water sources, notably seawater and brackish water, to effectively and sustainably meet drinking water needs.
An Efficient and Adaptable Monoblock Technology
SRM-SM is focusing on monoblock technology, known for its compactness and efficiency. Each unit integrates pre-treatment, reverse osmosis desalination, post-treatment, storage, and distribution, offering a modular and quickly installable solution suitable for both urban areas and isolated rural communities.
Concrete Achievements in the Region
To date, SRM-SM has delivered over 130 stations across the country, illustrating its pivotal role in implementing innovative water solutions. In the Souss-Massa region, 24 monoblock stations are currently under construction with an investment exceeding 500 million dirhams, including two major stations north of Agadir, each with a capacity of 100 liters per second. These infrastructures will ensure the security and continuity of drinking water supply in the region.
A Commitment to Sustainability and Public Service
Through this ambitious program, SRM Souss-Massa reaffirms its commitment to responsible and innovative water management, combining technical performance, rapid execution, and proximity to users. The monoblock stations represent a concrete and sustainable response to the challenges of water stress, reinforcing SRM-SM’s strategic role in the region and on a national scale.
