Deadly Military Plane Crash in Sudan Claims 46 Lives
A tragic military plane crash occurred on Tuesday evening in a residential area near Khartoum, resulting in a death toll of 46, as reported by the Khartoum State Media Office on Wednesday.
According to an official statement, the final count reveals 46 fatalities and 10 injuries. The incident took place in Omdurman, a neighboring city of Khartoum, when an army aircraft crashed into a building.
The Sudanese Ministry of Health further stated in their communiqué that rescue operations are still underway to locate additional potential victims trapped under the debris. Emergency responders have transported several injured civilians, including two children, to a nearby hospital.
The accident happened near the Wadi Seidna airbase, one of the largest military centers of the Sudanese army, located in the outskirts of Khartoum.
