Morocco: Over 109,000 New Businesses Established in 2025, with Commerce Leading the Way

The Kingdom of Morocco confirms its entrepreneurial dynamism in 2025 with the creation of 109,656 new businesses, according to the latest statistics from the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC). Trade remains the most favored sector, while the Casablanca-Settat region accounts for nearly one-third of entrepreneurial initiatives.

Companies Dominate New Business Creations

Among these enterprises, 78,622 were established as legal entities, compared to 31,034 individual businesses. This trend highlights the growing preference among entrepreneurs for legally organized structures that meet the needs of investment and development.

Trade and Construction Lead the Sectors

Trade takes the lead with 35.7% of the businesses created, followed by construction, public works, and real estate (19.65%) and various services (17.63%). Other notable sectors include transportation (7.79%), industry (7.01%), hospitality and catering (5.71%), information and communication technologies (2.89%), financial activities (1.86%), and agriculture and maritime fishing (1.78%). This distribution illustrates the diversity of sectors attracting Moroccan investors.

Casablanca-Settat Takes Pole Position

Regionally, Casablanca-Settat leads with 33,959 businesses, followed by Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (15,286), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (13,983), Marrakech-Safi (12,342), and Souss-Massa (7,515). Other regions also recorded significant numbers, except for Guelmim-Oued Noun, which only had 842 new creations.

Single-Person Limited Liability Company: The Preferred Choice

In terms of legal form, the single-member limited liability company (SARL AU) overwhelmingly dominates with 64.8% of new businesses, ahead of the traditional SARL (34.4%). This preference reflects the appeal of flexible structures suited for individual projects and straightforward business management.

These figures confirm that the Moroccan entrepreneurial fabric is strengthening, propelled by a gradual diversification of activities and a growing willingness to invest across the kingdom.
