Morocco–DRC: Strengthened Relations in Rabat

On Friday in Rabat, Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita welcomed Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge, the President of the Senate of the Democratic Republic of Congo. As a special envoy of President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, he carried a message for His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Strong historical ties between Morocco and the DRC

Following the meeting, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge highlighted the deep-rooted historical relations between Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He also praised the consistent support of the Kingdom for the DRC, illustrating the strength of diplomatic ties between the two African nations.

Morocco as a key player on the African stage

The Congolese official emphasized Morocco’s major role in Africa. He noted the Kingdom’s commitment to stability, development, and continental cooperation.

According to him, Morocco is now recognized as an indispensable strategic player in African relations.

This meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss several issues of common interest between the two countries.
