Minister Highlights "Digital Morocco 2030" Strategy as a Key Step in the Nation’s Digital Transformation

Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, the Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, stated that the "Digital Morocco 2030" strategy marks a "crucial step in the process of the Kingdom’s digital transformation."

Speaking on Thursday in Rabat during the 152nd edition of the Diplomatic Forum, organized at the Diplomatic Foundation with the presence of accredited ambassadors in Morocco and representatives from international organizations, the minister emphasized that Morocco is engaged in a thorough contemplation of its digital future, rejecting "the choice between dependency and isolation."

An Approach Based on Sovereignty and Modernity

The minister highlighted that the Moroccan strategy is built on four pillars: operational technological sovereignty, enhanced data governance, and a modernity rooted in the nation’s history, culture, and socio-economic context.

She also underscored Morocco’s ambition to develop a national artificial intelligence that is "controlled, useful, and integrated into the economy," dedicated to serving the country’s development.

Morocco’s Strategic Positioning in the Global Digital Landscape

Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni also pointed out that Morocco’s geostrategic position enables it to play a balancing role in the reconfiguration of global technological power dynamics, positioning the Kingdom as a platform for international dialogue.

She stressed the importance of an approach that emphasizes effective cooperation and controlled openness, asserting that "successful digital transformation is not an end in itself but a means to serve society and the State."

Towards a Simpler and More Human Administration

The minister called for collective efforts to build an administration that is "simpler, safer, and more humane," serving citizens and ensuring digital sovereignty.

Administrative Reforms and Accelerated Digitization

For his part, Abdellati Habek, president of the Diplomatic Foundation, reminded attendees that Morocco has recently committed to profound structural reforms, including the simplification of administrative procedures, decentralization, and the strengthening of good governance, alongside the acceleration of digital transformation.

He noted that digitization has become "an unavoidable strategic choice," specifying that the Kingdom is developing digital infrastructures and innovative public services.

International Cooperation on Artificial Intelligence

Abdellati Habek further highlighted that the challenges related to artificial intelligence transcend borders, calling for enhanced international cooperation to frame these technologies for sustainable development.

He announced the recent launch of a strategic dialogue between Morocco and the European Union focused on digitization, specifically addressing artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and innovation.

A Diplomacy Forum with Strong International Participation
