Morocco: OCP Highlights a Comprehensive Vision for Agriculture and Livestock at SIAM 2026

The OCP Group showcased its integrated vision of agricultural systems during the 18th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM). This vision is based on a comprehensive approach that connects soil, crops, and livestock.
An Integrated Agricultural Chain Around Phosphorus
Through a pavilion designed as an educational journey, the group illustrated the central role of phosphorus in the entire agricultural value chain—from mining extraction to animal nutrition, encompassing soil, crops, and agronomic sciences.
This approach emphasizes the idea that animal production cannot be separated from other components of the agricultural system; rather, it exists within an interdependent and sustainable ecosystem.
Toward Precision and Tailored Agriculture
OCP also highlighted its strategic transformation, shifting from a volume-based model to one focused on customized solutions.
This evolution is based on a logic of precision fertilization, tailored to the local specifics of soil, climate, and crops. It particularly relies on the “4R” principle: the right nutrient, at the right rate, at the right time, and in the right place, in order to optimize yields while minimizing environmental impact.
Animal Nutrition and Industrial Innovation
In the livestock sector, the group operates at two levels: indirectly through the fertilization of forage crops, and directly via animal nutrition solutions developed by its specialized subsidiary.
These solutions, particularly the “Phosfeed” range, aim to enhance the health and growth of livestock while improving the efficiency of animal production systems.
Balancing Ecological Transition and Food Security
OCP asserts that its actions are rooted in a dual ambition: to strengthen food security while reducing the environmental footprint of agriculture and industry.
This strategy is based on practices such as rational fertilization, loss reduction, circular economy, and the development of low-carbon agriculture.
An investment program of $13 billion (2023-2027) supports this transformation, with a focus on low-carbon energy and resources.
Impact on Local Communities and Farmers
The group highlights the impact of its programs on the ground, notably through the “Al Moutmir” initiative, which has already supported over 40,000 farmers and facilitated more than 229,000 soil analyses.
This initiative contributes to professionalizing agricultural practices, improving yields, and enhancing the resilience of farms, including in the livestock sector.
A Vision for Sustainable Development
Through this integrated approach, OCP aims to reconcile agricultural productivity, industrial innovation, and environmental sustainability, aligning itself with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly food security and climate action.
