Moroccan Agro-Food Exports Surpass 86 Billion Dirhams in 2025

Moroccan exports of agro-food products continued to grow in 2025, reaching a value of 86.2 billion dirhams, compared to nearly 62 billion dirhams in 2020—an increase of 38%, according to data presented during the board meeting of Morocco Foodex for the 2026 fiscal year.

The meeting, chaired by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari, highlighted the agro-food sector’s contribution, which now accounts for nearly 18% of national exports and is the third largest source of foreign currency for the Kingdom.

In terms of volume, exports hit 4.7 million tons in 2025, marking a 9% rise compared to 2020 and a 49% increase from 2015, reaffirming the dynamism of Moroccan products in international markets.

However, the citrus export campaign for 2025-2026 was impacted by unfavorable weather conditions. Citrus exports were recorded at 553,000 tons, down from 626,000 tons in the previous campaign—representing a decline of 12%. Exports of vegetables, particularly tomatoes, also saw a decrease.

On this occasion, Ahmed El Bouari emphasized the role of Morocco Foodex in supporting exporters, enhancing the competitiveness of Moroccan products, and promoting national offerings in international markets. He stressed the importance of maintaining a balance between the domestic market and exports, while continuing to diversify opportunities and assist new exporters, especially young entrepreneurs and startups, within the framework of the Generation Green 2020-2030 strategy.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Morocco Foodex, Ghita El Ghorfi, presented the technical and financial performance for the 2025 fiscal year, as well as the progress made in budget execution for the first half of 2026 and the evolution of agro-food product exports.
