Morocco–Turkey: Ryad Mezzour Highlights a Partnership Focused on Structural Investments

Strengthening Economic Ties: Morocco and Turkey Aim for Sustainable Industrial Growth

The Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, emphasized the strategic importance of the economic partnership between Morocco and Turkey, highlighting a new focus on structural investments and the creation of sustainable industrial value.

This statement comes amid bilateral discussions between the two countries, marked by a shared commitment to enhance economic cooperation and expand partnership areas, particularly in industry, infrastructure, and value chains.

The minister stressed that the Morocco-Turkey relationship is no longer limited to traditional trade exchanges. It now embraces a perspective of productive investments that can support the Kingdom’s industrial transformation and bolster its long-term competitiveness.

This dynamic is supported by the reforms Morocco has undertaken in recent years to improve its attractiveness, develop its infrastructure, and solidify its positioning as an industrial and logistical hub between Europe, Africa, and the Mediterranean Basin.

Exchanges between Rabat and Ankara also focus on boosting Turkish direct investments in Morocco, which are already present in several industrial sectors, as well as the potential to extend cooperation into new high-value areas.

Authorities from both countries highlight the complementarity of their economies, with significant potential for cooperation in sectors such as automotive, renewable energy, agro-industry, logistics, and industrial infrastructure.

In this context, Morocco is pursuing its strategy for industrial upgrading, aiming to attract structural investments capable of generating jobs, promoting technology transfer, and enhancing local integration within production chains.

Ultimately, this partnership fits into a broader vision of strengthened economic cooperation between Morocco and Turkey, built on mutual benefit and shared development. The ambition is to solidify sustainable and competitive industrial projects on both a regional and international scale.
