Al Akhawayn University Celebrates the Graduation of Its 29th Class

On June 13th, Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane held its graduation ceremony for the 29th class, bringing together students, families, faculty, and partners to honor 822 graduates, of whom 59% are women. This reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to enhancing female representation.

During the ceremony, university president Amine Bensaid emphasized the institution’s continuous adaptation to technological changes through its strategic plan for 2025-2030. This plan prioritizes digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and new technologies, ensuring that students are equipped for the demands of the future workforce.

Bensaid also highlighted the university’s impressive employability rates, noting that 75% of job-seeking graduates had received job offers prior to graduation. He aims to increase this figure to 90% by year’s end, demonstrating the alignment of academic programs with labor market needs.

He further underscored the significance of Al Akhawayn’s internationally recognized accreditations and its dedication to academic excellence. Notably, 35 graduates from this class achieved a perfect score on the "Major Field Test," an international assessment conducted across over 3,000 university programs in 150 institutions worldwide.

The president also stressed the importance of responsible artificial intelligence usage, advocating for a "dual intelligence" approach that integrates technological mastery with human skills. He believes AI should serve humanity and contribute to individual and societal well-being.

Entrepreneurial spirit was also highlighted, with the university currently supporting around 40 startups initiated by its students, 21 of which have received backing from business angels. According to Bensaid, these achievements exemplify the university’s commitment to nurturing innovative profiles capable of addressing tomorrow’s economic and technological challenges.

Founded in 1995 in Ifrane, Al Akhawayn University continues its mission to develop citizens who are globally aware, rooted in Moroccan values, and capable of thriving in a constantly evolving international landscape.
