Flash floods strike the Greek islands of Paros and Mykonos.

On Monday evening, the Greek islands of Paros and Mykonos, popular with summer tourists, were hit by heavy flash floods.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far, according to local media. As a precautionary measure, schools on the islands of Paros, Mykonos, Rhodes, Kos, Kalymnos, Symi, and Tilos have been closed.

The meteorological service anticipates that the heavy rains will move toward the islands of Chios, Samos, and Ikaria in the coming hours. The severe weather, accompanied by winds reaching up to 74 km/h, is considered a “real danger.”

In response to the situation, the civil protection agency has issued alerts via mobile phones, advising residents of Paros and Mykonos to stay indoors for their safety.
