Medications: The ADII and AMMPS Strengthen Border Controls

The Administration of Customs and Indirect Taxes (ADII) and the Moroccan Agency for Medicine and Health Products (AMMPS) signed a framework partnership agreement on Friday in Rabat. This initiative aims to enhance the security of imported medicines and health products while simplifying the procedures in compliance with current regulations.

The agreement was signed by Mohammed Ezzahaoui, Director General of the ADII, and Samir Ahid, Director General of the AMMPS. It outlines improved coordination between the two institutions and the sharing of their expertise to strengthen the control over imported products.

This partnership specifically focuses on the development of computerized data exchanges, simplification of administrative formalities, and the gradual deployment of AMMPS pharmaceutical inspectors at border posts, taking into account the specificities of the sector.

Through this initiative, both organizations aim to bolster health security, improve mechanisms for monitoring medicines and health products at the borders, and enhance the health protection of citizens.
