Bank of Africa Reports a Net Banking Product of 10.5 Billion Dirhams for the First Half of 2026

As of the end of June 2026, the consolidated net banking income (NBI) of the group reached 10.502 billion dirhams, up from 10.349 billion dirhams a year earlier, marking an increase of 1.5%.

However, the growth momentum accelerated in the second quarter. Between April and June, the consolidated NBI hit 5.642 billion dirhams, reflecting a 4.9% year-on-year rise, compared to 5.381 billion dirhams in the second quarter of 2025.

Continued Strong Financing Activity

On the commercial front, the group continued to expand its financing. The consolidated customer loans, excluding repos, amounted to approximately 243.5 billion dirhams at the end of June 2026, up 4.3% since December 2025.

Socially, loans increased by 5.6%, reaching 157.7 billion dirhams, confirming growth in financing activities across various customer segments.

Deposits also continued to grow. The consolidated deposits, excluding repos, totalled 286.5 billion dirhams, reflecting an increase of 4.1% since the end of 2025.

In Morocco, customer deposits rose to 178.1 billion dirhams, showing a 5% increase.

Slight Decline in Social NBI

On a social basis, the net banking income stood at 5.313 billion dirhams in the first half of the year, down from 5.456 billion dirhams a year earlier, representing a 2.6% decrease.

However, this trend reversed in the second quarter, where the social NBI grew by 4%, reaching 2.978 billion dirhams.

These performances reflect a consistently dynamic commercial activity, particularly in deposit collection and credit distribution, while the growth of consolidated NBI remains more subdued.

Multiple International Distinctions

Beyond its financial performance, Bank of Africa has also enhanced its visibility on the international banking stage during the first half of the year.

The group was notably named “Best Bank in North Africa 2026” by the magazine The African Banker, marking its second time receiving this honor since 2023.

The bank also won two awards from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the context of the TFP Awards, which recognize excellence in trade finance, along with another award related to its sustainability report.

With the growth in its loans and deposits, Bank of Africa confirms its ongoing commercial expansion in the first half of 2026. The improvement noted in the second quarter is also a positive signal for the second half of the fiscal year.
