Talisman Metals Reveals Copper and Silver Grades at Tirzzit

Talisman Metals Reports First Drill Results from Tirzzit Copper and Silver Project
On October 21, 2026, mining company Talisman Metals announced the initial results of four drill holes conducted at its Tirzzit copper and silver project, located about 225 kilometers east of Agadir. Notably, one of the drill holes revealed an intersection of two meters grading 1.56% copper and 64 grams of silver per ton, starting from a depth of eight meters. These preliminary results support the presence of mineralization in the studied formations, although they do not yet allow for an assessment of the economic potential of the deposit.
Copper and Silver Grades in Four Drill Holes
The first results reported by Talisman Metals pertain to four drill holes executed within Upper Precambrian sedimentary formations. The drill hole TRC01 intersected two meters of mineralization with a copper grade of 1.56% and 64 grams of silver per ton, starting from a depth of eight meters.
The other three drill holes also encountered copper, with variable grades and thicknesses. Drill hole TRC02 intersected ten meters grading 0.31% copper, which included a one-meter intersection at 2.08% between eleven and twelve meters deep.
Drill hole TRC03 revealed four meters at 0.18% copper and six grams of silver per ton, between depths of 51 and 55 meters. Meanwhile, drill hole TRC04 intersected five meters grading 0.31% copper and seven grams of silver per ton between 83 and 88 meters, including one meter with a grade of 1.05% copper and 19 grams of silver per ton.
These results serve as an initial verification of previously identified mineralized indicators at the surface. While they provide additional data to guide future exploration phases, they are not sufficient at this stage to establish the existence of economically viable mineral resources.
Talisman Considers New Mineralized Zones
According to Tim McCutcheon, CEO of Talisman Metals, the results confirm the presence and location of sedimentary layers containing copper. The company believes that continued work may allow for the identification of thicker mineralized zones within the folds of the studied geological formations.
This hypothesis is partially based on the characteristics of comparable deposits in the region but will require confirmation through further drilling and analysis of the continuity of the mineralizations.
The current campaign employs reverse circulation drilling, utilizing compressed air to bring rock fragments to the surface. Samples were taken at one-meter intervals before being sent to the Labomine laboratory for analysis.
The geometry of the formations also plays a crucial role in interpreting the results. Given that the drill holes are vertical and the layers are relatively gently inclined, Talisman estimates that the actual thickness of the mineralized zones could represent between 90% and 100% of the lengths measured in the drill holes. However, this estimate is still subject to the observed geological characteristics and does not, on its own, determine the lateral extent or volume of the mineralizations.
Exploration Area Expands to 63.5 Square Kilometers
The initial Tirzzit project covers 16.5 square kilometers spread across two mining titles. Talisman Metals announced the acquisition of these titles on February 16, 2026, from a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Canadian group Aya Gold & Silver, which also holds a 4.7% stake in Talisman.
At the time of the publication of the latest results, the administrative transfer of these two titles was still ongoing, despite an agreement being reached between the parties.
The exploration perimeter was expanded in September with the acquisition of three adjacent permits covering an additional 47 square kilometers. Issued by the mining services of Agadir, these permits are numbered 3942912, 3942913, and 3942914 and remain valid until July 24, 2029.
With these new approvals, the cumulative area of the affected perimeters reaches 63.5 square kilometers. This extension is expected to enable the company to explore other sedimentary formations likely to host copper and silver mineralizations.
Proximity to Tizert, a Geological Benchmark
The terrain explored at Tirzzit belongs to a geological ensemble similar to that which houses the copper and silver mine at Tizert, located about 85 kilometers southwest of the project.
This proximity is a point of interest for exploration efforts, but it does not imply the presence of equivalent resources at Tirzzit. The potential of the site will need to be established based on project-specific data.
Talisman plans to continue geological surveys, rock sampling, and geophysical studies. The proposed work includes electromagnetic and induced polarization measurements to identify anomalies that may indicate the presence of mineralizations at depth.
Historical data also provide insights into areas to examine. Between 1972 and 1976, the Bureau of Research and Mining Participations reported intersections reaching 3.16% copper over 2.5 meters and 0.6% over 11.4 meters.
However, Talisman emphasizes that these old results have not been sufficiently validated according to current standards for mineral resource reporting. Thus, they serve as historical references to guide exploration rather than as a basis to establish certified reserves.
New Analyses Expected in Q4
Talisman Metals expects to complete the work on the selected targets within four to six weeks and to announce new analyses during the fourth quarter of 2026.
The technical data has been reviewed and validated by independent geologist Michael Dufresne, in accordance with the publication requirements applicable to mining companies listed in London.
Future campaigns will need to clarify the continuity of the mineralized zones, their extent, and their potential. At this stage, the initial results from Tirzzit mark an advancement in the geological understanding of the project; however, several exploration steps remain necessary before determining its potential economic value.
