Bank Al-Maghrib Withdraws Certain Denominations from Circulation

Bank Al-Maghrib has announced, in accordance with Decree No. 2.25.966 published on December 23, 2025, the withdrawal of certain categories of Moroccan banknotes starting from January 1, 2026.

Affected Denominations

This measure concerns the following banknotes:

Beginning on this date, these banknotes will lose their legal tender status and their ability to settle debts.

Exchange Conditions

Bank Al-Maghrib specifies that holders of these banknotes will be able to exchange them without limitation at the counters of the central bank and all banking establishments from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2030.
