Morocco: Launch of the “Rally IA Future Lab” to Accelerate Innovation in Artificial Intelligence

Ministerial Launch of AI Future Lab Rally in Merzouga
The Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform (MTNRA) has officially launched the “AI Future Lab Rally” in Merzouga, a national initiative aimed at strengthening Morocco’s artificial intelligence ecosystem and accelerating the development of innovative solutions designed in the country.
Building on the momentum of the “AI Made in Morocco” initiative, this program responds to Royal High Directives advocating for digital transformation, innovation, and the enhancement of human capital. Its ambition is to make artificial intelligence a strategic lever for technological sovereignty, economic competitiveness, and modernization of public services.
Uniting Moroccan Talents Around AI
The AI Future Lab Rally aims to bring together various stakeholders in the national artificial intelligence ecosystem, including researchers, engineers, students, entrepreneurs, developers, and institutional, academic, and private partners.
The objective is to nurture the emergence of concrete solutions tailored to the needs of citizens, public administrations, and Moroccan businesses, while enhancing the Kingdom’s innovative capacity in a rapidly growing sector.
A First Edition Launched in Merzouga
This inaugural edition is taking place in the Drâa-Tafilalet region until June 20, 2026. It has attracted around a thousand participants from various professional and academic backgrounds.
Ultimately, the organizers aim to expand the initiative nationwide with multiple cohorts that could involve up to 5,000 participants across different regions of the Kingdom.
A Project Built on the Success of RamadanIA
The AI Future Lab Rally also builds on the achievements of the RamadanIA program, a hackathon held across all twelve regions of Morocco. This initiative engaged more than 700 participants and around fifty mentors, culminating in a national final organized in Rabat, which brought together nearly 170 selected talents.
Through this new program, Morocco reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its position in emerging technologies and developing an artificial intelligence ecosystem capable of addressing tomorrow’s economic and social challenges.
