TV5Monde Strengthens Commitment to African Audiovisual Creation with €1 Million Investment in Moroccan Animation
TV5Monde is reinforcing its commitment to African audiovisual creation by announcing a €1 million investment aimed at supporting the animation film sector in Morocco. This initiative intends to assist Moroccan studios in producing youth-oriented content in French and to enhance the visibility of Moroccan creations on the international stage.
Supporting Youth Content Production
This program is part of TV5Monde’s long-term strategy to develop and strengthen the animation industry within the Francophone community. Broadcast primarily on the youth channel TiVi5Monde, this content reaches nearly 30 million viewers weekly around the globe.
Having previously supported several projects in Côte d’Ivoire and Madagascar, the channel is now expanding its efforts to Morocco, thanks to exceptional funding from the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
Eight Moroccan Series in Final Production Stages
As part of this initiative, TV5Monde has established partnerships with two Moroccan animation studios. Eight series are currently in the final stages of production and will soon be available on various platforms under the group’s umbrella.
These productions, crafted in French, will offer educational and entertaining content inspired by Moroccan and Maghreb cultural themes, aiming to impart the values of Francophone cultural diversity to younger generations.
Morocco Strengthens Its Position in Creative Industries
Through this investment, TV5Monde affirms its desire to position Morocco as a key player in Francophone animation. This project is expected to contribute to the development of local skills, highlight Moroccan cultural heritage, and bolster the Kingdom’s competitiveness in the cultural and creative industries.
