Royal Air Maroc Expands and Modernizes Its Fleet with New Boeing 737 MAX 8 Acquisition
Royal Air Maroc is continuing its fleet modernization and expansion efforts with the upcoming arrival of a new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, registered in Morocco under the number CN-RHR. This acquisition aims to enhance the national carrier’s capabilities on short and medium-haul routes.
With this new aircraft, the overall fleet of Royal Air Maroc will increase to 69 planes, including those operated by RAM Express, setting a new historical record for the national airline.
This initiative is part of the airline’s strategy to modernize its fleet and prioritize newer, more efficient aircraft, amidst an expanding air network and growing demand.
The latest addition will be the 18th Boeing 737 MAX 8 to join Royal Air Maroc’s fleet. This model plays a significant role in the airline’s operations, particularly on short and medium-haul routes.
Thanks to its operational efficiency and range suited to the company’s network, the 737 MAX 8 is one of the key aircraft that Royal Air Maroc relies on to support its business growth.
With this new acquisition, the number of single-aisle Boeing aircraft in the carrier’s fleet will reach 45, reaffirming Boeing’s position as one of the primary aircraft suppliers for the national airline.
The fleet enhancement comes as Royal Air Maroc continues to develop its network, including increasing flight frequencies on certain routes and strengthening connectivity between Morocco and various international markets.
The increase in fleet capacity serves as a crucial lever to support the growth in passenger traffic, while also enabling the airline to operate more modern and fuel-efficient aircraft to aid its development.
The integration of the new Boeing 737 MAX 8 is expected to provide Royal Air Maroc with greater flexibility in assigning its aircraft based on network needs, while also improving its operational efficiency.
With the arrival of this new aircraft, Royal Air Maroc is thus advancing its growth and modernization trajectory, and crossing the threshold of 69 planes marks a significant milestone in the development of the national carrier.
