CHAN 2024: CAF Imposes Fine on FRMF for Players’ Inappropriate Behavior

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has fined the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) $5,000 following last Sunday’s match where the national local team faced Kenya.

In an official statement, CAF indicated that this decision was made by its disciplinary committee due to the “inappropriate behavior” of certain Moroccan players during the match. However, the exact nature of the alleged misconduct was not specified.

Out of the $5,000 fine, $2,500 is suspended, provided that no similar behavior is observed before the end of the 2024 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).

Moreover, other federations have also faced penalties. The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) was fined for various security rule violations during the same match, while the Zambian Football Federation (ZAF) was punished for not adhering to CAF media regulations during a press conference.

CAF has specified that the fines must be paid within 60 days from the date of official notification.
