Trump on his way for a crucial meeting with Putin in Alaska to discuss peace in Ukraine.

Trump Embarks on Peace Talks Mission with Putin in Alaska
Early Friday morning, U.S. President Donald Trump departed from Washington, heading to Alaska for a highly anticipated meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The purpose of this meeting is to explore the foundations of a potential peace agreement aimed at ending the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war.
Just before boarding Air Force One for a roughly seven-hour flight to Anchorage, the state’s largest city, Trump shared a brief yet significant message on his Truth Social platform: "BIG STAKES!"
The meeting with President Putin is scheduled for later that day at 19:30 GMT at Elmendorf-Richardson military base in Anchorage, a strategically important U.S. site that played a key role during the Cold War.
The day prior, Trump indicated that a genuine peace agreement could only be reached through a trilateral summit involving himself, Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This potential second meeting would hinge on the outcome of Friday’s face-to-face discussion with the Russian president.
"The second meeting will be very, very important, as that’s where an agreement could be signed. And even though I don’t like to use the term ‘sharing,’ it isn’t entirely inappropriate in this context," Trump remarked in an interview with Fox News.
The American president further stated that negotiations would need to be based on the principle of mutual concessions, especially regarding issues of borders and territories. However, he acknowledged a 25% chance of failure concerning the first meeting in Alaska.
