The National Union of Liberal Professions Holds Its General Assembly to Examine the Future of Private Professions

The National Union of Liberal Professions of Morocco (UNPL) will hold its elective General Assembly on Thursday, October 30, at 3:00 PM, at the Val d’Anfa Hotel – Ain Diab in Casablanca, under the slogan: “For Strong, Fair, and Civic Liberal Professions.”

The Union clarified that this national gathering comes at a time of significant transformations affecting the liberal professions sector in Morocco, which includes medicine, pharmacy, architecture, law, and other areas. It aims to address the current economic and social challenges that require, according to the statement, “the adoption of a unified vision that strengthens the position of liberal professionals within the national system.”

The General Assembly will provide an opportunity to discuss the prospects of private professions in Morocco and to evaluate current policies, in line with the supreme royal directives calling for an approach based on listening and consulting all active forces in the nation.

The Union emphasized that several professional sectors are facing challenging situations, including:

Medicine, which is increasingly trending towards privatization;
Pharmacy, which is grappling with reforms threatening the stability of thousands of pharmacies and the health of citizens;
The legal profession, which is opposed to a draft law from the Ministry of Justice;
And the marginalization of architecture in major projects leading up to 2030.
The Union insisted that the current period compels liberal professionals to break out of organizational isolation and engage in a new dynamic, transforming liberal professions into a constructive and proactive force that contributes to enhancing professional dignity and social stability.

The Union invites all professionals, unions, professional associations, and citizens who are committed to the values of solidarity and citizenship to participate in this General Assembly, which will serve as an occasion to renew organizational structures and strengthen dialogue among the various professional stakeholders.
