Morocco Puts Well-Being at the Heart of Work
Préventica 2025: Workplace Well-being as a National Priority in Morocco
On Wednesday in Casablanca, Younes Sekkouri, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Enterprises, Employment, and Skills, stated that the well-being of workers should be a national priority, as they are the true pillars of economic development and the sustainability of businesses.
Speaking at a conference on the strategy of the National Institute of Working Conditions (INCVT), organized alongside the “Préventica 2025” International Congress and Exhibition on Health and Safety at Work, Mr. Sekkouri called for a collective mobilization to enhance health and safety at work (SST) throughout the Kingdom.
Towards a National Culture of Prevention
The minister emphasized that occupational health and safety are key levers for economic competitiveness and sustainable development, stressing the need to ensure decent, healthy, and secure working conditions.
Under the enlightened guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco is experiencing unprecedented economic dynamics that must be accompanied by increased vigilance against rising workplace accidents. Mr. Sekkouri advocated for the proliferation of health and safety committees while highlighting that SST also encompasses mental and psychological health, especially in light of increasing work-related stress.
The minister further emphasized the necessity of tailoring preventive measures to the needs of women workers to ensure effective equality in workplace well-being.
INCVT: Driving Force of the National Prevention Strategy
At this event, Faiza Amahroq, the director of the National Institute of Working Conditions (INCVT), introduced the new national strategy “Health and Safety at Work: A Forward-Looking Approach.”
This ambitious vision aims to establish the INCVT as a reference center and a national hub for prevention, training, research, and innovation in occupational health and safety.
It is based on an integrated sectoral approach adapted to the specificities of each economic activity, in partnership with professional federations and women’s associations. The construction, healthcare, mining, agriculture, crafts, transport, and tourism sectors have been identified as priorities due to their economic weight and high occupational risks, particularly with the approach of the 2030 World Cup.
Préventica 2025: A Global Showcase for Workplace Safety
The president of Préventica International, Eric Dejean-Servières, praised the success of the 2025 edition of the exhibition, which saw a record participation of experts and exhibitors from Africa, Europe, Asia, and America.
According to him, Préventica Casablanca has now established itself as an international platform for exchanges and innovations dedicated to safety and quality of life at work.
Tariq Essaid, president of the Préventica Congress, highlighted that this edition reflects the growing maturity of Moroccan stakeholders in managing occupational risks and promoting sustainable prevention. He also emphasized the importance of a territorial and inclusive approach, particularly in industrial areas and on construction sites, to strengthen community resilience and protect workers in the face of rapid economic transformations.
International Cooperation and Shared Innovation
Participant Yannick Jarlaud, representing a group specialized in digital solutions for Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment (QSE), commended Morocco’s dynamic international cooperation. He highlighted the tangible partnerships between Moroccan and French companies, showcasing the transfer of expertise and the Kingdom’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
A Concerted and Inclusive National Strategy
Supported by several ministries, including Health, Industry, Energy Transition, and Economic Inclusion, the 2025 edition of Préventica brings together over 200 exhibitors from four continents. This mobilization underscores Morocco’s intention to place health and safety at work at the heart of its national strategy, aligning with its sustainable development goals and its inclusive social vision.
