Managem Launches New Energy Division, Focusing on Natural Gas to Accelerate Growth

Managem Group Takes a Significant Step in Diversification with Launch of Mana Energy Subsidiary

The Managem Group has reached a new milestone in its diversification strategy by launching a new subsidiary named Mana Energy, dedicated to the development and management of its projects in the natural gas sector.

This new entity reflects the group’s desire to expand its range of activities beyond traditional mining and to position energy as a key driver of growth in the medium and long term.

Mana Energy will encompass various gas projects under Managem, including the Tendrara gas field located in eastern Morocco. This new organization is expected to enable the group to accelerate the development of its projects, optimize their financing, and facilitate new partnerships with specialized players in the energy sector.

The Tendrara project stands as one of the major gas initiatives currently under development in Morocco. The first phase is slated to go into production in the second half of 2026, featuring a liquefaction unit primarily intended to supply industrial facilities directly. The goal is to contribute to the availability of a local energy source and reduce reliance on imports.

The second phase, projected for 2029, involves establishing a gas processing unit and connecting the gas field to the Maghreb-Europe Gas Pipeline (GME). This infrastructure is expected to broaden distribution opportunities and enhance the integration of the project into the national energy system.

The launch of Mana Energy comes as Morocco intensifies its efforts to diversify its energy mix and strengthen its energy security, particularly through the development of natural gas and renewable energy sources.

As part of its strategic plan for 2026-2030, Managem also aims to invest over 10 billion dirhams in its mining, industrial, and energy activities. The development of gas thus complements an already diversified portfolio, which includes copper, cobalt, gold, and several strategic minerals.

The new subsidiary is expected to provide the group with greater flexibility in attracting industrial, technical, and financial partners while paving the way for new projects in the gas sector and opportunities linked to the energy transition.

With the establishment of Mana Energy, Managem reaffirms its ambition to become an integrated player in natural resources, combining the enhancement of mining resources with the development of energy solutions, in line with Morocco’s objectives for energy sovereignty and industrial competitiveness.
