Morocco Wins Gold and Bronze

Islamic Solidarity Games: The Moroccan taekwondo team clinched two medals on Sunday in Riyadh during the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games.
Champion Haitam Zarhouti secured the gold medal in the men’s -82 kg category after defeating Iranian Amir Reza Sadeghi by a score of 2-0.
In the women’s -51 kg category, champion Oumaima El Bouchti earned the bronze medal by triumphing over Pakistani Fateemaah Khawar, also with a score of 2-0.
In a statement to the press following the medal ceremony, Zarhouti emphasized that the -82 kg category in the Islamic world features some prestigious names among Olympic and world champions, adding that this medal holds significant importance for his athletic career.
With this victory, Morocco’s total medal count rises to 13, comprising 6 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze, momentarily placing the nation in 8th position on the medal table.
