The 2024 National Press Grand Prix: Winners Revealed in Rabat
On Monday evening in Rabat, the jury for the 23rd edition of the National Press Grand Prix 2024 announced the names of the winners across various categories. The ceremony was attended by Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Amine Benabdellah, the President of the Constitutional Court, along with many personalities from the media, culture, and literature sectors.
Honorary Awards
The honorary award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the Moroccan media landscape, was awarded jointly to:
Naïm Kamal, journalist and publication director of Quid.ma,
Said El Jadidi, former journalist for the Spanish desk of SNRT, awarded posthumously.
The honorary prize dedicated to Moroccan journalists working abroad went to:
Jawad Badda, journalist at beIN Sports,
Fatima Zahra Bouaziz, correspondent for the Spanish news agency EFE in Morocco.

Television
The television award was shared between:
Abdellah Jaafari (Medi1 TV) for his report on the Mohammed VI Football Academy,
Younes El Bdiwi (Cultural Channel – SNRT) for his piece on the scientific Waqf in Morocco.
Radio
The radio award was jointly awarded to:
Nabila Qamimi (Alidaa Alwatania) for her report on the epic story of the Green March,
Mounia Arshi, for her work on proposed reforms to the Family Code.
Print and Digital Media
In print media, the award went to Nabila Bakas (Le Matin) for her article “Public Hospitals… When Security Agents Dictate Their Rules.”
In digital media, the award was given to Khadija Alimoussa (TelQuel Arabi) for her investigation into the recruitment of children in the Tindouf camps.
Agency Press
The agency press award was won by Mohamed Haddadi for his article “The Rosary, Unquestionable Star of Gifts Offered by Pilgrims.”
Investigative Journalism and Amazigh Productions
Investigative Journalism
The award went to Asma Aïnoun and Zakaria Dhalfi (2M) for their investigation “Moukhtafoun Program: The Marouane Al-Mokaddem Case.”
Amazigh Journalistic Production
Jointly awarded to:
Ibrahim Ishwi (Amazigh Radio) for “Tada… When Amazigh Tribal Customs Precede International Law.”
Fadwa Amghar (Amazigh Radio) for her report on mussel harvesting in the Tiznit province.
Culture and the Hassani Sahrawi Space
The award went to:
Cheikh Maâ El-Ainine (Laâyoune Radio) for his report on the Tiznit-Dakhla highway,
Ghali Karhi (Laâyoune Channel) for his piece on the horses of Oued-Noun.
Regional Press, Photography, and Caricature
The regional press award was granted to Hafedh Malain (Laâyoune Now) for his report “The Glorious Green March, Half a Century of Fidelity.”
The photography award recognized Abdelmajid Bziouat (L’Économiste) for his report “M’hamid el Ghizlan… A Temple of Nomadic Heritage.”
No award was given for caricature this year.
A Tribute to Media Figures
The ceremony also paid tribute to several media figures, including Leïla Maâ El Ainine, Mohamed Dakka, Mohamed Seddik Maaninou, and sports journalist Lino Bako.
Jury Recommendations for Future Editions
The jury chairwoman, Fatima Zahra Ouriaghli, praised the quality of the 156 works in competition, reflecting the professionalism and commitment of Moroccan journalists.
She proposed:
The creation of an award for presentation and dialogue,
A special award for sports journalism,
The introduction of second and third prizes per category to further encourage creativity.
The jury also included Mohammed Taoufik Ennassiri, Mouhsine Bountaj, Abdellatif Bensfia, Sanae Rahimi, Mohammed Zouak, Fatima Anejdam, Adil Alaoui, Mohamed Bourouis, Ahmed Arkam, and Youssef Belhaissi.
