Strengthening the Cultural Partnership between Morocco and France: A Shared Commitment to the Future

Moroccan Minister Celebrates Strong Cooperation with France at Press Conference
On Tuesday in Rabat, Moroccan Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, praised the robust cooperation and partnership between Morocco and France across various sectors. During a joint press conference with French Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, Bensaid highlighted the excellence of bilateral relations, describing the ties between Rabat and Paris as "historical."
The Minister specifically mentioned Morocco’s participation as the guest of honor at the Paris Book Fair, an event that once again reflects the strong relationship between the two countries, as well as Morocco’s increasingly prominent status on the regional and international stage under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Bensaid also emphasized the regular meetings with Dati, illustrating the depth of bilateral cooperation and the exceptional partnership between the leaders of both nations. “This partnership aims to tackle common challenges by mobilizing all sectors related to bilateral, regional, and international cooperation," he explained.
The cooperation agreements signed on this day materialize the commitments made during the visit at the end of October, which was attended by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron. Bensaid also mentioned Dati’s visit to the provinces of Tarfaya, Laâyoune, and Dakhla, highlighting that it reaffirms France’s position as a permanent member of the UN Security Council in support of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara.
Regarding cultural cooperation, Bensaid insisted on the importance of strengthening collaboration between the two countries in this field, particularly to promote emerging cultural industries, such as the gaming sector, which is becoming the world’s leading cultural industry. He advocated for a stronger engagement from both the French and Moroccan private sectors in this dynamic ecosystem.
Finally, the Minister assured that new opportunities would arise to deepen this cooperation through mutual visits, adding that the agreements signed today significantly enhance the cultural partnership between Morocco and France.
