Casablanca: A Vast Drug Network Dismantled

A Joint Operation by BCIJ and DGST
On Tuesday, the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) announced the dismantling of a criminal network specializing in international drug trafficking. This operation, carried out based on precise intelligence from the Central Services of DGST, targeted a group that was using the beaches near Casablanca to ship large cargoes by sea using inflatable boats.
Eight Arrests in Casablanca and Kenitra
As part of this operation against organized crime, eight individuals, aged between 32 and 60, including two women, were apprehended in Casablanca and Kenitra, according to a BCIJ statement.
Record Seizure of 16 Tons of Chira
Searches conducted during the operation led to the recovery of a significant haul:
390 bales of chira, totaling 16 tons
2.5 million dirhams in cash
6 inflatable boats
8 outboard motors
4 barrels of fuel
Various mobile phones, GPS devices, and air pumps
Ongoing Investigation to Trace the Network’s Links
The suspects have been placed in custody under the supervision of the appropriate prosecutor’s office. The goal is to identify all national and international connections of the network and to apprehend any additional individuals involved.
