BCP Awarded by the EBRD for Its Green Financing

The Groupe Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) has been honored by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) at the GEFF Awards, held on September 29, 2026, in Casablanca. This recognition highlights the bank’s commitment to financing projects dedicated to energy efficiency and the development of renewable energy in Morocco.

Through this award, the EBRD emphasizes the role of the banking group and its network in supporting companies that invest in more sustainable energy solutions. This initiative relies in particular on several financing mechanisms designed to facilitate the realization of projects that contribute to better energy consumption management.

Financing Dedicated to Energy Transition

Groupe BCP leverages various programs to support companies’ investments in energy efficiency and renewable energies. Among the mechanisms employed are MorSEFF, GEFF II, and GVC, which offer financing solutions tailored to projects related to the energy transition.

These mechanisms aim to ease companies’ access to the necessary financial resources for modernizing their equipment and adopting less energy-intensive practices. They are part of a broader dynamic promoting green financing, which is increasingly important in supporting economic transformations.

Through its banking network, Groupe BCP aims to support companies in their investment projects while contributing to energy transition efforts.

Loukkos Farm Recognized for Its Integrated Project

The GEFF Awards ceremony also recognized Loukkos Farm, a client of the Banque Populaire de Tanger-Tétouan. Its project won the award for the best integrated project, marking a second accolade related to initiatives supported by the Groupe BCP network.

This award highlights the contributions of companies that make investments aimed at more efficient use of energy resources. It also underscores the importance of banking support in implementing projects that combine economic objectives with environmental challenges.

Green Financing at the Heart of Business Support

The two awards received illustrate the various levels of intervention by Groupe BCP in financing energy transition. They relate to both the mechanisms offered by the banking institution and the projects carried out by the companies benefiting from its support.

For the banking sector, the development of green financing acts as a lever to support productive investments while encouraging improvements in companies’ energy performance.

This recognition from the EBRD comes at a time when access to financing dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energies is a key challenge for companies looking to modernize their activities and manage their costs effectively.
