The Kingdom of Morocco has been re-elected to the Council of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for the 2026-2027 term during the 34th session of the IMO Assembly currently taking place in London. Competing for one of the 20 seats in Category C, the Kingdom garnered substantial support from member states, thanks to the coordinated mobilization of the entire Moroccan diplomatic apparatus, working closely with the Ministry of Transport and Logistics. This marks Morocco’s 17th term on the IMO Council, demonstrating the renewed trust of the international community.

The Moroccan delegation, led by Abdessamad Kayouh, Minister of Transport and Logistics, included senior officials representing the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, the Ministry of Equipment and Water, the State Secretariat for Maritime Fisheries, the National Ports Agency, and the Tanger Med Port Authority.
