Meeting Between the Attorney General of the Kingdom and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Senegal in Rabat

The Attorney General of the King at the Court of Cassation, president of the public prosecution service, El Hassan Daki, met with Mahamadou Mansour Mbaye, the first president of the Supreme Court of Senegal, on Monday in Rabat during an official visit to the Kingdom. He was accompanied by a high-level delegation.

During this meeting, El Hassan Daki provided an overview of the independence of the judiciary in Morocco, a fundamental principle that guarantees the strengthening of the rule of law and autonomy from the executive branch.

The Attorney General also detailed the missions and roles of the public prosecution service and the general prosecutor’s offices of Moroccan courts, emphasizing their crucial role in safeguarding the rights and freedoms of citizens, in collaboration with other national institutions.

Both parties discussed ways to strengthen judicial cooperation between the two countries, particularly at the level of the public prosecution service, through the exchange of expertise and experiences.

The Senegalese delegation included Jean-Louis Paul Toubane, the Attorney General at the Supreme Court, Omar Kaye, chamber president, Jean Aloise Ndiaye, director of the cabinet of the Supreme Court president, and Hadji Biram Faye, in charge of international relations at the Supreme Court of Senegal.
