Béni Mellal-Khénifra: Temporary Suspension of Classes Due to Severe Weather Conditions

Several provincial directors under the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) of Béni Mellal-Khénifra have announced the temporary suspension of classes across all public and private educational institutions within their jurisdiction due to adverse weather conditions.
Specifically, the Provincial Directorate of Azilal has decided to suspend classes, on an exceptional basis, on Tuesday and Wednesday (December 16 and 17, 2025). In a statement, it explained that this decision follows an alert bulletin issued by the Ministry of Equipment and Water, aimed at ensuring the safety of students as well as educational and administrative staff in the face of the cold wave and the snowfall and rain currently affecting the region.
The same source emphasized that this measure, taken in accordance with recommendations from the provincial vigilance cell and in coordination with local authorities, will remain in effect until normal classes resume on Thursday, December 18, while continuously monitoring the weather situation.
For its part, the Provincial Directorate of Khénifra has also announced the exceptional suspension of classes this Tuesday in all public and private educational institutions within the province.
The Directorate noted that this decision was also based on the alert bulletin from the Ministry of Equipment and Water and was coordinated with the relevant authorities. It is part of preventive measures aimed at ensuring the safety of the educational community in light of current climatic hazards.
