Casablanca Stock Exchange Starts Downward Trend

The Casablanca Stock Exchange commenced trading on Tuesday with a decline, as its main index, the MASI, lost 0.23%, settling at 18,897.26 points.

The MASI 20, which represents the 20 most liquid stocks, dropped 0.24% to 1,516.20 points. Meanwhile, the MASI ESG, an index showcasing companies with the best ESG ratings as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, experienced a decrease of 0.22%, reaching 1,267.65 points.

In addition, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which reflects the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises, fell by 0.08% to 1,841.54 points.

Looking at individual stock performances, SMI saw the most significant gains, up 5.93% to 3,875 DH, followed by Lesieur Cristal (+3.08% to 301 DH), Sonasid (+2.96% to 2,368 DH), Microdata (+2.63% to 780 DH), and Taqa Morocco (+1.64% to 2,287 DH).

On the downside, Stroc Industrie faced the largest decline, dropping 3% to 252 DH, followed by CFG Bank (-2% to 245 DH), CDM (-1.91% to 1,077 DH), Fenie Brossette (-1.57% to 406.50 DH), and Attijariwafa Bank (-1.32% to 750 DH).

On Monday, the MASI had closed at 18,941.74 points.
