Regragui: “This qualification is a gift to the Moroccan people”

National coach Walid Regragui expressed his delight at Morocco’s qualification for the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, following their victory against Nigeria in a tense penalty shootout (4-2) on Wednesday night at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
He emphasized that this success is chiefly dedicated to the Moroccan public, noting that such matches often hinge on mental strength and attention to detail.

Regragui explained that titles are won through concentration and collective commitment, rather than individual talent alone. He also acknowledged the challenges posed by a strong and well-organized Nigerian team.

The Moroccan coach reminded everyone that this marks Morocco’s first appearance in the CAN final since 2004, calling it a historic achievement for national football. He announced that preparations for the final against Senegal will begin as soon as Thursday.
