The draw for the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations (Morocco 2025) will take place this Thursday in Cairo, as announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday. The tournament will be held in Morocco from March 30 to April 19, 2025, bringing together 16 teams, including the host nation, Morocco.
The draw ceremony, set to occur at CAF’s headquarters, will begin at 11:45 AM (GMT). A record number of 10 African teams will qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2025, scheduled to take place in Qatar from November 5 to 27, 2025.
In addition to Morocco, the teams qualifying for this edition of the U-17 AFCON include Angola, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Gambia, Mali, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Zambia. Two more teams will be determined following a qualifying tournament organized by UNIFFAC (the Union of Central African Football Federations).
The teams will be divided into four groups (A, B, C, and D) consisting of four teams each. As the host nation, Morocco is automatically placed in position A1 of Group A. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals and the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2025. The final two qualifying spots for the World Cup will be decided through playoff matches between the third-placed teams in their respective groups.
