Weather Forecast for Monday, January 26: Unstable Conditions Expected

The General Directorate of Meteorology predicts unstable weather for Monday, January 26, featuring variable rainfall intensity and a slight drop in temperatures across several regions of the country.

Heavy Rainfall in Northern Provinces

Significant rainfall or localized showers are anticipated in Tanger, Loukkos, the Rif, and the northern part of the Gharb region. Additional precipitation is also expected in the Saïss region, Oulmès, the northern Middle Atlas, the northeastern area, as well as the northern Atlantic coast.

Snowfall on the Peaks of the Middle Atlas

In conjunction with these disturbances, snowfall is forecasted for the peaks of the Middle Atlas. The temperatures will remain relatively cold to cold, particularly in the mountainous areas of the Atlas and the high plateaus.

Strong Winds in Various Regions

Strong gusts of wind will affect Tanger, the Rif, the western Mediterranean coastline, the Middle Atlas, and the Oriental region, with particularly notable winds in the Saïss region and near the northern coast.

Dropping Temperatures with a Slight Daytime Increase

Minimum temperatures are expected to range from -4 to 2°C in the Atlas mountains, between 2 and 8°C in the Rif, high plateaus, Southeast, and the northeastern southern provinces. They will vary from 10 to 14°C in the extreme South, eastern Mediterranean coast, northwest, and near the northern Atlantic coast, while the rest of the country will see temperatures between 8 and 10°C.

Conversely, maximum temperatures will experience a slight increase during the day.

Rough to Very Rough Seas

As for sea conditions, they will be moderate to rough in the Mediterranean, rough to very rough in the Strait, strong to locally very strong north of Tan-Tan, and rough to strong south of Tan-Tan, with localized moderate to rough conditions between Tarfaya and Laâyoune.
