The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts a continuation of disrupted weather on Wednesday across various regions of the Kingdom, characterized by sometimes heavy rainfall, strong winds, and snowfall in mountainous areas.

Persistent Rain and Overcast Skies in Many Regions

Rainfall and scattered showers are expected, particularly impacting Tangier, Loukkos, the Rif region, and northern Gharb. The sky will largely remain cloudy to overcast, with precipitation anticipated in the High and Middle Atlas as well as the Saïss region.

Additionally, partially cloudy conditions accompanied by sporadic rains are expected over the northern and central plains, northern Oriental, the northwest of the southern provinces, the Souss region, and along the Mediterranean coasts.

Snowfall in the Middle Atlas and Strong Wind Gusts

Snowfall is anticipated on the peaks of the Middle Atlas. Moderate to sometimes strong gusts of wind will affect Tangier, the Rif, the Mediterranean coastline, the Atlas mountain ranges, Oriental, the northern and central plains, and the northern Saharan provinces.

Significant Drop in Minimum Temperatures

Minimum temperatures will range from -2 to 4°C in the Atlas mountain ranges, from 4 to 6°C in the Rif and the high plateaus, from 8 to 12°C in the southern provinces, and between 10 and 15°C for the rest of the country.

Conversely, maximum temperatures are expected to experience a slight increase in the northern and central Atlantic plains, the southern Oriental, and the Saharan provinces.

Strong to Very Strong Sea Conditions: Caution Advised on Coasts

Regarding sea conditions, the waters will be strong to very strong on the Mediterranean front and the Strait of Gibraltar, potentially becoming locally very strong and dangerous north of Cape Cantin (Safi). The sea will also be strong to very strong between Cape Cantin and Tan-Tan, and turbulent to strong south of Tan-Tan, with a possible local calm during the night and morning hours.
