Weather Forecast for Sunday: Instability and Rain Across Morocco

The General Directorate of Meteorology predicts a day of overall instability this Sunday, characterized by rain and thunderstorms affecting the regions of Tangier, Loukkos, Gharb, Rif, and the Middle Atlas.

Additional localized rain or showers will impact the High Atlas, Saïss, northern plains, and the northeastern region. The sky will be cloudy with light, scattered rain across the central plains and the Souss region.

Snowfall is expected in the peaks of the High and Middle Atlas at elevations exceeding 1,800 meters. Strong winds will blow along the Mediterranean coastline, throughout the Rif, the Atlas mountains, and in the east of the country, with relatively strong gusts expected in the northwestern provinces of the South. Local sandstorms are also anticipated in the southern parts of the eastern region and in the Saharan provinces.

In the morning, the formation of dense low clouds is expected along the southern coasts, possibly accompanied by very light drizzle in some areas.

Minimum temperatures will range from -4 to 2°C in the Atlas mountains, from 1 to 7°C in the Rif and the high plateaus, and from 13 to 17°C in the extreme south of the country as well as along the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts. In the rest of the Kingdom, temperatures will vary between 7 and 11°C.

Maximum temperatures will see a slight decline in the eastern region.

The sea conditions will be rough to very rough along the Mediterranean coast, strong to very strong in the Strait, and extremely rough and dangerous between Cape Spartel and Essaouira, becoming strong to very strong in the afternoon. Furthermore, it will be strong to very strong between Essaouira and Tarfaya, moderately rough to rough between Tarfaya and Laâyoune, and rough to very rough in the south.
