Mobilizing Efforts to Address Climate Variability in Fès-Meknès: A Coordination Meeting Highlights the Interventions of the Regional Society

As part of the high royal directives aimed at mobilizing all stakeholders to address recent climate fluctuations, a joint coordination meeting was held on Friday, February 13, 2026, between the Société Régionale Multi-Services Fès-Meknès and the Fès-Meknès Territorial Communities Group for Distribution.
Assessment of Ground Interventions
This meeting served as an opportunity to present a detailed assessment of the company’s interventions during this exceptional climatic situation, which mobilized approximately 12,000 actions across various sectors. The electrical teams successfully reinstalled hundreds of electric poles and replaced damaged sections, restoring power in record time despite challenging terrain and severe weather conditions.
In the field of wastewater management, the preventive plan implemented by the company helped limit flooding, particularly in Fès and Meknès, thereby protecting property and ensuring smooth traffic flow. Additionally, the teams responsible for drinking water repaired major breakdowns and ensured the continuity of supply, especially in vulnerable rural and mountainous areas throughout the winter.
Discussion on Administrative and Land Issues
The meeting also addressed challenges related to the connection files for water, electricity, and wastewater networks, stemming from specific land or administrative situations. It was agreed to establish a technical and legal commission tasked with reviewing these files and proposing balanced solutions, thus facilitating citizens’ access to essential services within a legal and transparent framework.
Strengthening Coordination and Promoting a Proactive Management Model
This meeting exemplifies the commitment of the company and local authorities to enhance institutional coordination and to solidify a management model based on proactivity, efficiency, and citizen engagement. This effort aims to strengthen the Fès-Meknès region’s capacity to confront climatic challenges and ensure the continuity and quality of public services.
