Wednesday’s Weather: Cold Temperatures and Thunderstorms in Several Regions of the Kingdom

The General Directorate of Meteorology predicts relatively cold weather this Wednesday, particularly in the Atlas Mountains, Rif region, Southeast, and the high plateaus, especially during the morning and night.

Expected Thunderstorms

Occasional thunderstorms are anticipated across several regions, including Tangier, the western Mediterranean coast, the Rif, Saïss, the Atlas Mountains, central Atlantic plains, phosphate plateaus and Oulmès, the northern provinces of the South, the Oriental region, and the Souss area.

Scattered rain will also affect the Atlantic plains located north of El Jadida.

Strong Winds and Snowfall at Higher Altitudes

Strong gusts of wind are expected in the southern provinces and the Oriental region. Furthermore, snowfall will continue to impact the peaks of the High and Middle Atlas, exceeding 1,400 meters in altitude.

Dropping Temperatures in Some Regions

Minimum temperatures will range from -10 to -5 °C in the Atlas Mountains, between 0 and 4 °C in the Rif and high plateaus, from 12 to 16 °C near the southern coast, and between 6 and 12 °C in the rest of the country.

Daytime temperatures will decrease along the eastern Mediterranean coast, the Oriental, and the Southeast, while showing a slight increase elsewhere.

Sea Conditions

The sea will be rough to very rough in the Mediterranean, slightly to moderately rough in the strait, and rough to very rough north of Mehdia, with slight to moderate conditions south of Mehdia.
