Moroccan Coach Lamia Boumehdi Appointed Head of Jordan Women’s National Team
The Jordanian Football Federation announced on Saturday the appointment of Moroccan coach Lamia Boumehdi as the head of the Jordan women’s national team.
In a statement, the Federation revealed that Boumehdi has also been designated as the assistant to the technical director for women’s football, in addition to overseeing various national women’s teams.
The organization highlighted Boumehdi’s impressive career in coaching and technical management. She notably led the women’s team of TP Mazembe in the Democratic Republic of Congo between 2022 and 2025 and also coached the DRC women’s national team in 2025, while supervising the club’s football academy.
Moreover, Boumehdi was a part of the National Technical Directorate of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation from 2016 to 2022, where she contributed to the implementation of training and qualification programs for female coaches in Morocco.
Throughout her career, she has also managed several youth national teams and served as the head coach of the Moroccan women’s national team in 2020.
Holding multiple coaching qualifications recognized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), including the prestigious CAF A license, Boumehdi is also an accredited lecturer with the continental body.
Her accolades include winning the CAF Women’s Champions League with TP Mazembe in 2024, as well as being named the best women’s football coach in Africa for 2024 and 2025. She was also ranked among the top three coaches in Africa in 2025.
