Leila Benali: Morocco has 51 days’ worth of diesel stock.

The Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, has stated that Morocco currently has a diesel stock sufficient for 51 days of national consumption.
In this context, the ministry clarified on Thursday that national reserves include 51 days’ worth of diesel and 55 days’ worth of gasoline. This situation arises as international energy markets face significant tensions, highlighted by a surge in crude oil prices, particularly due to the conflict in the Middle East, as well as a roughly 30% increase in pump prices since the end of February.
According to the minister, these stock levels are part of the Kingdom’s efforts to bolster its energy security and ensure the continuity of petroleum product supplies.
She also emphasized that actions are underway to enhance national storage capacities to better address fluctuations in the international market and potential disruptions.
The management of strategic reserves thus remains a key lever to strengthen the resilience of the Moroccan energy system in a globally uncertain environment.
