The Moroccan women’s national football team has made a remarkable leap in the latest ranking published by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association, climbing three places to secure the 63rd position globally.
A Slight Increase in Points
The Atlas Lionesses now total 1401.90 points, reflecting an increase of 1.01 points compared to the previous ranking, following a series of mixed results in their recent matches.
A Continental Advancement
On the African continent, the Moroccan women’s team rises to fourth place, surpassing Zambia, and ranks behind Nigeria, South Africa, and Ghana, confirming its growing presence on the continental stage.
Spain Remains at the Top
Globally, the Spanish women’s football team maintains its top position with 2096.52 points, followed by the United States and Germany. England holds the fourth position, while Japan rounds out the top five.
Two Friendly Matches on the Horizon
As part of their preparations for upcoming challenges, the national team will play two friendly matches against Tanzania and Ghana on April 13 and 17 at the Moulay Hassan Stadium, as they gear up for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations scheduled this summer in Morocco.
