GITEX FUTURE HEALTH AFRICA Morocco Launches Exclusive Forum for Health Sovereignty in Africa
The GITEX FUTURE HEALTH AFRICA Morocco trade show has announced the launch of an exclusive forum dedicated to promoting health sovereignty on the African continent. Held under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, this inaugural event will take place in Casablanca from May 4 to 6, 2026.
Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in partnership with the Mohammed VI Foundation of Sciences and Health, and executed by KAOUN International, this event aims to lay the groundwork for more resilient, accessible, and technologically advanced health systems in Africa.
The GITEX FUTURE HEALTH AFRICA Executive Summit, set for May 4, will bring together public decision-makers, international experts, technology leaders, and investors to address major challenges related to the digital transformation of the healthcare sector. Discussions will focus on reducing dependence on external aid, strengthening public policies, and developing universal health coverage.
In a context marked by accelerating digitalization, participants will also explore strategies to foster innovation in digital health, stimulate local investments, and enhance public-private partnerships across the continent.
Among the expected speakers are Agnès Buzyn, Dan Vahdat, and Jan Schwaab, who will share their insights on the challenges of transforming health systems.
The program will continue with the Future Health Congress on May 5 and 6, which will include the Future Hospitals Forum, dedicated to hospital innovation and the integration of artificial intelligence in diagnostics, as well as the Future Care Forum, focused on a patient-centered approach and user experience.
The event will also feature an exhibition space bringing together international stakeholders in health and investment, including AstraZeneca, encouraging discussions and partnership opportunities.
Through this initiative, Morocco aims to strengthen its position as a leading African hub for digital health and actively contribute to the emergence of sustainable, innovative, and sovereign health systems on the continent.
