Extension of the Mohammed VI National Center for the Disabled in Agadir … A Major Project for Social and Economic Inclusion in the Souss Massa Region

Enhancing Services for People with Disabilities: An Ambitious Initiative in Souss Massa
In a significant move towards improving services for individuals with disabilities and promoting their social and economic inclusion, the Council of the Souss Massa Region convened in its Ordinary Session in July 2026. The council adopted a partnership agreement focused on the expansion and equipping of the Agadir branch of the Mohammed VI National Center for People with Disabilities.
This ambitious project will be carried out in collaboration with the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the Wilaya of the Souss Massa Region, and the Souss Massa Region itself. It builds upon ongoing efforts to promote the rights of individuals with disabilities, aiming to ensure better access to integrated services that meet their needs in areas such as training, rehabilitation, professional integration, sports participation, and social inclusion.
The project specifically aims to develop modern spaces dedicated to vocational training, enabling beneficiaries to acquire the skills necessary for their integration into the job market. It also includes the establishment of a socio-economic integration platform for young workers with disabilities to support them in their professional journeys and improve their employment conditions.
Furthermore, the initiative plans to create public spaces for production, marketing, and services to encourage income-generating activities and enhance the economic independence of individuals with disabilities. An entrepreneurial support area will also be developed to provide guidance, training, and assistance to project leaders and those seeking to enter the job market.
On the sports front, a fully equipped indoor facility will be constructed to accommodate various adapted sports disciplines for individuals with disabilities. This infrastructure will help develop their physical abilities and promote their participation in sports and leisure activities, which are seen as essential levers for social inclusion and personal development.
This project represents a foundational initiative focused on human development and reflects the shared vision of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the Wilaya of the Souss Massa Region, and the Souss Massa Region in promoting the rights of people with disabilities. It signifies a collective commitment to building an inclusive development model that provides this segment of the population with better opportunities in training, employment, and active participation in the sustainable development of the region, in accordance with the directives of His Majesty the King, may God assist him.
