Fès-Meknès Launches New Tourist Investment Initiatives
The Regional Investment Center (CRI) of Fès-Meknès is advancing its strategy to enhance the region’s tourism potential by launching two new calls for projects focused on the implementation of seven tourism investment initiatives.
Through this initiative, the CRI aims to boost the region’s attractiveness, draw in new investors, and support structured projects capable of generating economic growth and creating sustainable jobs.
Four Provinces Targeted in the First Call for Projects
The first call for projects is directed towards the provinces of Boulemane, Taounate, Taza, and El Hajeb, where several investment opportunities are being offered to operators in the tourism sector.
The projects primarily focus on developing:
- tourist accommodation establishments;
- ecotourism activities;
- entertainment and leisure spaces;
- tourism concepts that highlight the natural, cultural, and heritage riches of these areas.
The objective is to promote sustainable tourism tailored to local specificities and capable of invigorating the economies of the concerned provinces.
A Major Hotel Complex Planned in Sefrou
The second call for projects pertains to the realization of a significant tourism project on a state-owned site located in the municipality of Sidi Youssef Ben Ahmed, within the Sefrou province.
The project envisions the construction of a 4-star Club Hotel with 80 rooms, accompanied by leisure and entertainment infrastructure aimed at enhancing the region’s tourism offering.
The future complex will notably include:
- multiple swimming pools;
- a water park (Aqua Park);
- sports fields;
- a conference room;
- entertainment and leisure spaces.
According to the CRI, this infrastructure will enhance an area that boasts significant natural and landscape potential.
Applications Open Until August 10
Interested investors have until August 10 to submit their applications.
This new phase continues from the first call for projects launched last March.
Following this initial initiative, six tourism projects were selected from 11 proposals, representing a total investment of 124 million dirhams and the creation of 164 direct jobs.
Tourism: A Lever for Regional Development
With these new calls for projects, CRI Fès-Meknès reaffirms its commitment to making tourism a driving force for territorial development.
By encouraging the emergence of new structured projects, the region aims to enhance its attractiveness, diversify its tourism offer, and attract more private investments while creating new economic opportunities for its territories.
