10KM International de Casablanca 2026: The Metropolis Aims for a New Participation Record

Casablanca is set to pulse with sports enthusiasm as it prepares for the 2026 edition of the 10KM International by WeCasablanca, scheduled for Sunday, May 17. Following the remarkable success of the 2025 event, the city aims to reach new heights by welcoming 15,000 runners, reinforcing its status as a major urban sports hub in Africa.
A Remarkable Rise to Prominence
Since its inception in 2017 with just 1,100 participants, the 10KM International has seen phenomenal growth. Initially part of the Casablanca Marathon, the event has gradually established itself as a leading independent competition.
Today, with a certified course and organization aligned with international standards, the race draws nearly 200 elite athletes from around the globe eager to showcase their talents in the heart of the economic capital.
A Lever for Casablanca’s Shine
According to Mohamed Jouahri, General Director of Casablanca Events & Animation, the 10KM surpasses the realm of sports:
“This is no longer just a race; it’s a genuine platform for Casablanca’s visibility, combining organizational excellence with popular enthusiasm.”
The event thus forms part of a strategy aimed at sustainably positioning the city in the calendar of major international competitions.
A Look Back at a Successful 2025 Edition
The 2025 edition marked a turning point with:
- over 12,000 participants from 52 different nationalities,
- 540 international runners,
- more than 1.5 million digital impressions,
- and a Running Village that attracted nearly 25,000 visitors.
This success affirms the public’s enthusiasm and the unifying role of the event.
An Iconic Route at the Heart of the City
The 2026 edition will kick off at 8:30 AM from Boulevard Al Massira, featuring a route that connects several major city thoroughfares, including Boulevard d’Anfa and the Corniche.
The organization will mobilize:
- over 200 professional judges,
- and 400 volunteers,
ensuring oversight that meets international standards.
