Morocco–Finland: CGEM and EK Establish a Business Council to Accelerate Industrial Partnerships

Strategic Agreement between Morocco and Finland to Boost Economic Relations
The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) have officially signed a strategic agreement aimed at enhancing economic and industrial relations between Morocco and Finland. This collaboration includes the establishment of a bilateral Business Council dedicated to facilitating partnerships between companies from both nations.
The agreement was finalized in Helsinki during the Morocco-Finland Economic Forum, attended by institutional leaders and economic stakeholders from both countries. Its primary goal is to further structure exchanges between the Moroccan and Finnish business communities while promoting the emergence of high-value joint projects.
The newly formed Business Council will serve as a permanent dialogue platform for Moroccan and Finnish companies, aiming to facilitate cross-investments, technology transfers, and the establishment of industrial partnerships.
Discussions between the two parties highlighted several strategic sectors with significant cooperation potential, including mining industries, advanced industrial technologies, water management, decarbonization, as well as logistics and port solutions.
Morocco is positioned as a competitive industrial platform and a gateway to Africa, thanks to its modern infrastructure, free trade agreements, and strategic geographical location. Meanwhile, Finland contributes recognized expertise in advanced technologies, innovation, and sustainable industry.
This initiative is part of a broader dynamic to strengthen Morocco’s economic partnerships with international collaborators, aiming to stimulate investment and develop integrated industrial value chains.
