Agadir: The BHNS Project Takes a New Step forward with the Approval of Lines 2 and 3

The High-Level Bus Service (BHNS) project in Greater Agadir has taken a significant step towards full implementation, following the approval of the routes for the second and third lines by the project steering committee. This progress is part of a major initiative aimed at modernizing urban transport and enhancing mobility conditions for residents.
This decision was made during a meeting chaired by the Wali of the Souss-Massa region, Said Amzazi, alongside the president of the Greater Agadir Group of Local Authorities for Transport and Urban Mobility, Jamal Diouani, the president of the Souss-Massa Regional Council, Karim Achengli, and the first vice-president of the Agadir Municipal Council, Mustapha Boudraqa, along with various stakeholders involved in the project.
The meeting marked a crucial milestone in the deployment of the structured urban transport system in Greater Agadir. Lines 2 and 3 of the BHNS will complement the network following the commissioning of the first line, thereby enhancing connectivity between the various municipalities of Greater Agadir and improving travel conditions for citizens.
The project is part of a comprehensive vision aimed at establishing a modern, efficient urban transport system that meets the demands of the region’s significant demographic growth and urban development in recent years.
Officials are also counting on this infrastructure to alleviate traffic congestion, improve the quality of public transport services, and address the increasing mobility needs.
Participants in the meeting emphasized the importance of continued coordination and mobilization of all actors to ensure the timely execution of this strategic project. This initiative is regarded as a key lever to enhance the attractiveness of Greater Agadir and strengthen its position as a prominent economic and tourist hub at the national level.
The BHNS is set to transform the landscape of urban transport in the region, keeping pace with the profound changes occurring in the city and contributing to the sustainable improvement of residents’ quality of life.
