The land heritage of the Moroccan State exceeds 13.7 million hectares.
The Moroccan state land assets reached over 13.7 million hectares as of June 11, 2026, according to data presented by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, during a parliamentary session.
This figure represents an increase of 1.7 million hectares compared to the end of 2025, illustrating the extent of operations aimed at identifying and securing public land carried out by the state.
A Comprehensive Land Registration Operation
This progress is mainly attributable to the efforts of the State Property Directorate, which has launched a broad campaign to register unregistered lands.
According to official data, over 6.5 million hectares have been subject to registration requisitions, while land titles covering approximately 590,000 hectares have been established.
These measures have significantly reduced the share of unregistered lands, now estimated to be almost negligible within the overall assets of the state.
A Strategic Lever for Investment
The minister emphasized that this land heritage constitutes a strategic tool to support investment, economic development, and job creation.
In 2025, nearly 32,000 hectares were mobilized for the implementation of 308 investment projects, representing a total volume of approximately 71 billion dirhams and the creation of thousands of jobs.
Strong Mobilization for Public and Social Projects
Public land has also been utilized for infrastructure and community facility projects.
Approximately 812 hectares have been allocated to social projects, including schools, hospitals, and various local infrastructures.
This dynamic is part of a strategy aimed at optimizing the use of public land in service of public policies and territorial development.
Regularization and Management of Illegal Occupations
Regarding illegal occupations, the authorities have adopted an approach combining amicable regularization and legal recourse when necessary.
More than 16,000 hectares have thus been amicably regularized, while complex cases are undergoing judicial procedures.
A Land Heritage in Full Valorization
This development confirms the commitment of public authorities to make state land a central lever in the economic development strategy by enhancing its management, traceability, and mobilization for the significant structural projects of the Kingdom.
